Where was Cassius attacked?
Cassius was attacked in the city of Ephesus in the province of Asia Minor, in what is now modern-day Turkey. The attack happened during the reign of the Roman Emperor Tiberius, and it was carried out by a group of Roman soldiers led by a man named Calpurnius.
The attack was a result of Cassius’s refusal to comply with Tiberius’s orders. Cassius had been a loyal and faithful subject of the Roman Empire, but Tiberius had grown weary of him, and ordered his arrest. Cassius refused to give himself up, and instead rallied a group of his loyal followers to protect him. However, the Roman soldiers were able to overpower them and Cassius was arrested.
The attack on Cassius sparked a civil war in Ephesus, which eventually led to the overthrow of Tiberius and the installment of his successor, Caligula. Cassius was eventually released and went on to become one of the most famous and influential figures in Roman history.
