What time does Australian Idol air?
Australian Idol airs on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7:30pm on Channel Ten. It is the Australian version of the popular British TV show Pop Idol and has been running since 2003. The show is hosted by Osher Günsberg and features a judging panel of Guy Sebastian, Iggy Azalea, Kelly Rowland and Guy Pearce.
The show follows a standard format in which contestants, aged 16 and over, audition in front of the judges and a live audience. Those who make it through the auditions are then put through to the ‘Super Bootcamp’ and ‘Comeback Challenge’ rounds, where contestants compete for a spot in the semi-finals. After the semi-finals, the top twelve contestants compete in the live grand final.
The winner of Australian Idol is chosen by the viewers at home, who vote for their favourite contestant by phone or SMS. The winner receives a recording contract and the chance to launch their music career. So if you're looking for an exciting night of singing and entertainment, don't forget to tune in to Australian Idol at 7:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday nights!
