The East Midlands Derby is a rivalry between two teams in the English Football League, Derby County and Nottingham Forest. The two teams have a long history of competing against each other, with the first meeting taking place in 1883. The most recent result of the East Midlands Derby was a 1-1 draw at Pride Park on October 20th, 2018. Derby County took the lead in the first half through a Mason Bennett goal, but Nottingham Forest equalised soon after through a Daryl Murphy strike.

The overall record between the two teams is very close, with Derby County leading the head-to-head with 42 wins, compared to Nottingham Forest’s 40 wins. Since the turn of the century, Derby County have won more of the East Midlands Derbies, with 14 wins to Nottingham Forest’s 12. However, Nottingham Forest have had the better of the recent meetings, winning four of the last five fixtures.

The most recent meeting between the two sides was the first draw since April 2015, and the first draw at Pride Park since October 2013. The result has seen Nottingham Forest move to the top of the Championship table, while Derby County remain in mid-table.
