Derby County, an English football club based in Derby, has won the FA Cup once in their history. The club, founded in 1884, won the FA Cup in 1946, beating Charlton Athletic 4–1 in the final. This was the first time that Derby had reached the FA Cup final, and the first time they had won the competition.
Since winning the FA Cup in 1946, Derby County have reached the final on two further occasions. The first was in the 1974–75 season, when they were defeated by Leeds United. The second was in the 1988–89 season, when they were again defeated, this time by Liverpool.
In total, Derby County have won the FA Cup once, in 1946, and have been runners-up on two occasions, in 1975 and 1989.
